Chief's Message

Greetings citizens of the City of Elizabeth and extended family and friends. It is my pleasure and honor to serve as the Chief of the Elizabeth Fire Department whose job is to serve you, the citizens of this great City. As you may be aware the Elizabeth Fire Department services cover a wide range of both emergency and no-emergency situations. Not only do we provide firefighting, we respond to hazardous material type incidents, motor vehicle accidents, structural collapse and confined space incidents as well as industrial accidents and a host of other situations.

Our Ambulance Service Bureau provides life saving care as well as emergency transportation to local and area hospitals. Our Fire Prevention Bureau specializes in Fire Safety Education geared towards both young and adult citizens of the City. Our Fire Prevention Bureau also provides free smoke detectors to those in need to ensure the safety and well being of citizenry.

I take great pride in our Fire Officers, Firefighters, and our Emergency Medical Technicians who provide daily, a professional and unwavering level of service. We do this through education, prevention, and training on rescue and emergency response activities and by creating and maintaining working relationships throughout our community. The level of service the Department provides to its citizens is unparalleled by any other. We the members of the Elizabeth Fire Department thank you in advance for your interest and support and look forward to working toward a happier, healthier, safer environment.
