Community Affairs Bureau

The Elizabeth Community Affairs Bureau is responsible for facilitating the spirit of cooperation between the public and the Police Department. This Division serves as the liaison between the citizens of Elizabeth, business groups, and the Police Department, in ways that inform, educate and communicate information necessary for all parties. The division maintains transparency regarding the state of the City and facilitates open communication between the public and the department.


The Community Affairs Bureau runs a variety of community programs and provides a number of non-traditional police services. Some of these include:

  • Coffee with a Cop
  • Community Block Watch Meetings; Currently 12 meetings are held each month throughout the six City of Elizabeth wards.
  • Giving safety presentations at:
    • Nursing homes
    • Senior centers
    • Workplaces
    • Other similar venues
  • Soft Serve with an Officer
  • National Night Out
  • Pizza With Police
  • Hot Chocolate With Police
  • PBA Winter Coat Drive
