S.O.A.R. I & II - Special opportunities for Achievement & Reawakening (S.O.A.R.), administered by the Office on Youth. S.O.A.R. delivers services to children and families from the community. The purpose of the program is to encourage community participation by stressing the importance of providing a safe environment, which is alcohol, tobacco, and drug free. S.O.A.R. emphasizes the importance of educational achievement, recreational activities and counseling for youth ages 6-14 and their families.

The S.O.A.R. program has been serving the residents of the City of Elizabeth with our after school programs and summer camps since 1996. Located in School #23, our ongoing mission is to help youth in the city of Elizabeth between the ages of 6-14 reach their limitless potential through tutoring, various club activities, theatre arts, recreation, nutrition workshops, and much more. In 2002, we expanded into the Bayway area with our S.O.A.R. II Program, located in the Mravlag Manor Community Center.

We strive to maintain a well rounded program that meets the needs of today’s young people. Our multi-faceted programs are on the cutting edge of after school program.

Our program has produced outstanding citizens and we look forward to servicing both you and your family. We believe that healthy kids come from healthy families. Our Parent group is an external component of the S.O.A.R Program. The Parent Organization is an important part of what we do. Our parent group meets twice a month and hosts their own special events. Our Parent group is the backbone of the S.O.A.R Program, we encourage all parents to join the S.O.A.R Parent Organization.

*All students do not attend these trips. We select only the eldest children of the program and those participants must have exhibited positive behavior for the duration of the summer. All selections are at the discretion of the Program Coordinator.
