The Safe Haven Program has been providing a safe, structured and nurturing environment for the Elizabethport community for the past seven years.
Safe Haven, which began as a federally funded project offered through the Elizabeth Police Department, has provided positive activities where the community can interact with local police officers. As of 1998, CDBG has financially supported the Safe Haven After-School program. There are various programs for children of all ages:

Homework assistance
• Drill Team
• Basketball
• 4-H Club
• Nutrition Club
• Exercise Classes
The Safe Haven Program strives to provide an alternate to the perils of the streets, a place where children can drop in and not just hang out.
