ELIZABETH, NJ— October 1, 2015— Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, XXXX, along with City and Fire Officials, welcomed 10 new firefighters at a ceremony in City Hall Council Chambers this morning.

“Public safety is a top priority as we work together to ensure the City of Elizabeth is as safe as possible for residents and businesses,” said Mayor Bollwage. “The job is not easy, but it can be very rewarding, I wish all them much success in their new careers.”

Several new recruits are also bilingual, increasing the ability to interact and communicate with the diverse communities located throughout the municipality.  New recruits include: Matthew D. “The Elizabeth Fire Department remains committed and dedicated to providing the safety and security necessary for our residents and businesses,” said Councilman-At-Large Manny Grova, Jr. “These new recruits will now join the ranks amongst Elizabeth firefighters who have proven dedication to their profession and our City. I would like to welcome them to our team and wish them a safe career.”
