MAYOR BOLLWAGE TO RECEIVE SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE AWARD

ELIZABETH, NJ - March 9, 2015 - Mayor J. Christian Bollwage has been chosen to receive the U.S. Conference of Mayors
Partner America 2015 Small Business Advocate Award due to the efforts he has made to support the City’s small businesses.
Joined by representatives from Elizabeth, Partner America, U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Elizabeth Development Company,
the award will be received at a small business day seminar. This symposium will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers, located on the third floor of 50 Winfield Scott Plaza.
“I am pleased that the U.S. Conference of Mayors is recognizing the dedication of the City’s Administration in strengthening
small businesses throughout Elizabeth,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. “This upcoming seminar will increase awareness
regarding access to services, enhance communication as well as highlight the valuable resources offered through government and
local agencies."

The forum will focus on the promotion of small business growth and development in the City of Elizabeth. Speakers at this event
will include: Mayor Bollwage; Alfred Titone, District Director of the New Jersey U.S. Small Business Administration; Monika
Athwal, Business Development Officer of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority; Lisa Perri of Colonial Life; Lou
Mosca, Executive Vice President and COO of American Management Services and Eduardo Rodriguez, Director of the City of
Elizabeth’s Planning and Community Development.

All small business owners are encouraged to attend this free event, where light refreshments will be served. The US Conference of
Mayors Small Business Advocate of the Year Award was established five years ago to acknowledge the work of Mayors who
have demonstrated leadership and partnership with small businesses in their communities.

“In New Jersey, small businesses contribute immensely to our economy and provide many of the services residents need and want
within their communities,” said Patricia Perkins-Auguste, City Council President. “I would like to thank all of the partnering
organizations for hosting this event, which will support growth and expansion throughout our neighborhoods.”
