MAYOR BOLLWAGE CUTS RIBBON ON 20th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT’S NEW OFFICE IN ELIZABETH

ELIZABETH, NJ—February 21, 2013— On Tuesday, February 19th, Mayor J. Christian Bollwage joined Senator Raymond Lesniak, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Assemblyman Joseph Cryan at the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new office of the 20th Legislative District in Elizabeth.

“Over the years, we have worked closely with our representatives from the 20th District, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for our City,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. “Conveniently located within our Midtown, the new Elizabeth office will increase access to information and raise awareness regarding available services; enabling the community to receive the assistance they need.”

The event, which was held alongside members of the Elizabeth City Council as well as officials and dignitaries from throughout Union County, commenced operations at the new service hub.

“I am pleased to announce the opening of our new district office in Elizabeth. As we work hard to strengthen the 20th District, this newest site will provide a direct connection for residents to convey their ideas and concerns,” said Assemblywoman Annette Quijano. “Interacting with an individual in person is so important, particularly when there may be an issue that needs to be addressed.  The 20th District is here to help and therefore I encourage everyone to visit our newest location.”

In addition to Elizabeth, residents can also find Senator Lesniak, Assemblywoman Quijano and Assemblyman Cryan at their main office at 985 Stuyvesant Avenue in Union.

“Oftentimes, our constituents do not know where to start when trying to navigate matters; especially when they may involve multiple agencies at the county, state and federal levels,” said Senator Raymond Lesniak. “We are committed to helping every resident that walks through our doors and providing them with the customer service they deserve.”

The 20th District covers the Union County municipalities of Elizabeth, Hillside, Roselle and Union. The new office is located at 65 Jefferson Avenue, Suite B, in Elizabeth and will be staffed Monday through Friday.

“As an elected official, who makes it a priority to be involved in the communities I represent, I am excited to open a new office in the heart of Elizabeth,” said Assembly Joseph Cryan. “As we embark on this newest endeavor, I look forward to expanding outreach efforts and reinforcing our connection throughout the Elizabeth community.”
