COLOMBIANOS SIN FRONTERAS WILL HOST ITS 5th ANNUAL COLOMBIAN PARADE IN ELIZABETH

ELIZABETH, NJ- June 23, 2016 – On Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., cultural group Colombianos Sin Fronteras will
host their 5 th Annual Colombian Parade in Elizabeth.

“The individuality of the many cultures in Elizabeth is what makes our City great,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. “As
the Colombian community celebrates this weekend, we will all continue to work together to achieve a brighter future. On
behalf of the City of Elizabeth, I would like to thank Colombianos Sin Fronteras for organizing this parade each year.”

The annual parade kick starts the celebration of Colombian Independence Month in July. It will feature dance groups, floats,
antique cars, community organizations, Union County College, Elizabeth Public Schools representatives and show horses. It
will also highlight culture and folklore, not only from Colombia but from other South and Central American countries as
well.

These organizations and participants will be preceded by this year’s Grand Marshal Freeholder and Vice-Chairman of the
Freeholder Board of Union County Sergio Granados. He will be joined by City, County and State dignitaries, as well as
Elizabeth Board of Education Members, Sheriff Joseph Cryan and many other community leaders and advocates.

“From the shores of the Port to Midtown to Elmora Hills, Colombians have made their presence felt in making so many
outstanding contributions to our City, especially in the fields of business, food and the arts,” said Freeholder Vice Chairman
Sergio Granados. “They are one part of the melting pot of ethnic groups that make Elizabeth a truly great place to live. I am
looking forward to serving as this year’s Grand Marshal and I congratulate Colombianos Sin Fronteras for their efforts.”

Colombianos Sin Fronteras (Colombians Without Borders) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help countries
that are devastated by natural disasters. The organization was established in the City of Elizabeth in 2008 and currently has
32 members.

“It is important for our children to connect with their culture as well as the birth place of their parents and grandparents,”
said Guillermo Piernagorda, 2016 President of Colombianos Sin Fronteras. “Learning different elements of Colombian
history and seeing it firsthand will help them appreciate their heritage. This parade will continue to help support their interest and enthusiasm.”

2016 sponsors include but are not limited to: Mayor J. Christian Bollwage and the City of Elizabeth, the County of Union,
Senator Raymond Lesniak of the 20th Legislative District and businesses all throughout the City of Elizabeth, Union County,
New Jersey and New York.

The parade will begin at City Hall on Winfield Scott Plaza and continue from Broad Street, eventually ending at Morris
Avenue and Sayre Street. Immediately following the parade, attendees are invited to enjoy some of the finest Colombian
cuisines in Elizabeth, while watching the Cup of America Soccer Final at restaurants and locations.
