CITY OF ELIZABETH PARTNERS WITH UNITED AIRLINES TO HIRE BRIGHT YOUNG ADULTS

 

ELIZABETH, March 5, 2012 – For the third year in a row, the City of Elizabeth is collaborating with Union County College and the Retail Skills Center to host an informative event, which will highlight employment opportunities available through the United Airlines Summer Agents Program.

This session will take place on March 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. within the 5th Floor Conference Center of the Kellogg Building, located on the Elizabeth Campus of Union County College.

“We are proud to partner with United Airlines in this exceptional program for our young adults,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, “This initiative provides a unique opportunity to hone individual skills and receive valuable workplace experience.”

During this one-day event, applicants will be pre-screened in order to assist United Airlines in the hiring process. Upon selection, individuals will be trained by United Airlines to work at Newark Liberty International Airport from June 1, 2012 through September 1, 2012.

Qualifications for these positions include:

  • Reliable individuals, who display excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Fluent in English (Bilingual a plus)
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be Elizabeth residents or Union County College students, between the ages of 18-24 years old

In order to be prepared for a pre-screening interview, applicants must bring a valid photo I.D. and resumé.  While college students are preferred, other candidates will be considered.  Neat attire is recommended for interested applicants.

United Airlines will make the final selection for positions based upon individuals who successfully passed the pre-screening interview process on March 22nd.
