ELIZABETH, March 5, 2012 – For the third year in a row, the City of Elizabeth is collaborating with Union County College and the Retail Skills Center to host an information session event seeking young individuals for the United Airlines’ Summer Agents Program. “We are proud to partner with United Airlines in this exceptional program for our young adults,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, “This is an experience which will allow applicants the necessary tools to be successful, at the same time allowing them to demonstrate their individual skills and professionalism.”

This one-day prescreening event will assist United Airlines in hiring individuals to work at the Newark Liberty Airport from June 1st through September 1st. This yearly summer employment program is operated by United Airlines, who will provide training to the participants.

Qualifications for these positions include: reliable individuals who display excellent communication and customer service skills, fluent in English (bilingual a plus) and must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. While college students are preferred, other applicants will be considered.

The eligible candidates must be Elizabeth residents or Union County College students between the ages of 18-24 years old. To be prepared for a pre-screening interview applicants must bring a valid photo I.D., resumé, and neat attire is recommended.

United Airlines will make the final selection based on those individuals whom successfully pass the pre-screening interview process on March 22nd.
