2008 Inductees

Charles Y. Taylor
Charles Taylor was born in the City of Elizabeth, NJ on April 16, 1930. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951. During his junior year Charles was Co-Captain of the school soccer and track teams.
Athletic Accomplishments
1949 – Elizabeth High School First Team and First player from Thomas Jefferson High School to make the New Jersey All State Soccer Team.
1949 – Group 4 All State Track Team, 3rd Place in the 200 Yard Dash and 5th Place in the 100 Yard Dash.
1952 – U.S. Air Force International Track & Field Meet in Fontainebleau, France-- Tied for the outstanding individual award, 10.6 100 Yard Dash and 23.2 200 Yard-- Won 100 Yard Dash, 200 Yard Dash and 440 Yard Relay.
1953 – International Track & Field Meet in D’Orleans, France. Won the Outstanding Individual Award, represented the U.S. Air Force in Europe. Invited to play with French Deols Soccer Club, won 3-1-- Coach & Player Chad, U.S. Air force Varsity Soccer Team.
Professional Work Experience
1975-1994 – Senior Investigator, Passaic County Prosecutors Office, Paterson, NJ.
1972-1975 – County Investigator, Union County Prosecutors Office, Elizabeth, NJ.
1958-1999 – Master Sergeant Range Instructor, United States Air Reserve, Westover Air Force Base in Springfield, MA.
1951-1958 – United States Air Force Airmen First Class, Lackland Air Force Base, Springfield, MA.
1999 – Retired on April 16, 1999.
Charles and his wife Florence are proud parents of four children; Charles Jr., Barry Gordon, David Young and Simone Cheri. They have seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
