2005 Inductees

Anthony Candelino
Anthony Candelino was born on September 9, 1967. He was raised in Elizabeth and is the youngest son of Rosario and Vincenza Candelino. Anthony has two brothers; Jerry and Ben, who is also an Elizabeth Hall of Fame inductee. In fact, in 1984-85 Ben coached Anthony and the Elizabeth basketball team to its first State Championship in 40 years.
Anthony attended St. Anthony’s grammar school where he played both basketball and baseball. A multi-talented athlete, Anthony continued developing his skills at Elizabeth High School where he earned All-County and All-State honors at guard for the Minutemen Championship Basketball squad.
As an outfielder for the baseball team, Anthony earned All-County, All- State and All-American Honors and was drafted in the fourth round by the Montreal Expos. He also played one year with the New York Mets.
Anthony also earned a full basketball scholarship at Marquette University where he started as a freshman at point guard and helped lead his team to an NIT appearance. Anthony earned a business degree and finished his athletic career at St. Peter’s College where his team made it to the NCAA tournament.
Today Anthony is a successful businessman and restaurant owner in Jacksonville, Florida where he has been the managing partner of River City Brewing Company for the past ten years. He and his wife Jennifer have three children Olivia, Rosario, and Jillian.
